Syncope Film Festival
Description
Syncope Film Festival is a showcase for international and independent filmmakers. It brings together storytellers and features a packed program of content for fans of horror. The flyer promotes the festival, which is open to the public. However, the level of access can vary, including the option for a VIP guest pass.
The design, set against a textured background with high-contrast black and white tones, mimics the worn, vintage feel often associated with classic horror. The use of the manipulated image pays homage to the 1960s horror film Eyes Without a Face, further enhancing this aesthetic.
Objective
To design visually engaging and brand-aligned invitations and merchandise that enhance the overall experience of your event. This includes the creation of invitations (digital and/or print), branded merchandise such as apparel, accessories, or promotional items, and supporting visual elements. The goal is to create a cohesive design system that communicates the theme and tone of the event, increases brand visibility, and leaves a lasting impression on attendees or customers.
Inspiration for this project was drawn from researching brutalist design as well as a more editorial-like layout. I was drawn to bold typography, high-contrast compositions, and textures that feel intentional yet slightly imperfect.
